Five default controls on every account
Every Mad Casino account opens with five protective controls active by default. The defaults can be tightened immediately. Loosening any default control triggers a 24-hour cooling-off delay, which mirrors the requirement set out in the UK Gambling Commission LCCP rules for licensed operators.
- Deposit limit, set daily, weekly or monthly. The cashier blocks deposits once the cap is hit until the period resets.
- Loss limit, capping net loss inside a chosen period. Once reached, deposits are blocked even if the deposit limit has not been hit.
- Session timer, a reminder that pauses gameplay after a chosen interval and surfaces a summary of time spent, net stake and net result.
- Wager limit, capping cumulative stakes inside a chosen period. Useful for separating session intensity from session frequency.
- Reality check, default 30 minutes, tightenable to 15 or 10 minutes from account settings.
Self-exclusion and GAMSTOP
Self-exclusion at the platform level blocks deposits, wagers and bonus claims for a chosen period, from one day up to permanent. The platform exclusion is immediate and irreversible during the period.
Because Mad Casino operates under a Curaçao eGaming sub-licence and is not a UKGC-licensed operator, GAMSTOP enrolment does not apply here. GAMSTOP is restricted to UKGC-licensed operators. A player who wants a network-wide block across UKGC-licensed sites should enrol with GAMSTOP separately. If you have ever self-excluded through GAMSTOP, you should not register an account here.
Free UK support services, round the clock
All three services below are free, confidential and operate twenty-four hours a day.
- GamCare, the UK national service for problem gambling. Helpline, live chat and an extensive resource library.
- BeGambleAware, the UK gambling charity that funds treatment, research and education. Directs people to local treatment providers.
- Gambling Therapy, a global online service in twenty-five languages. Useful for non-English-speaking UK residents.
Signs worth pausing for
Common warning signs include spending more than planned in a session, returning to the platform to chase losses, hiding the activity from family or partners, missing work or social commitments, or feeling anxious about a session result. Any one of these is worth pausing for. Setting a tighter deposit limit, taking a break or self-excluding for a short period is a normal recalibration rather than a permanent decision.
"The deposit limit is the single most effective control we have ever shipped. Players who set it at signup churn at less than a fifth of the rate of players who decline it, and the average net loss is half." — Rebecca Hartwell, Casino Compliance Editor, 27 May 2026
